Dave Aftandilian Deep listening can reveal unexpected resonances among disparate phenomena. Here I am struck by the way fire and ice mirror one another in sound and motion on the thermal geysers track. The glacier hydrophone recordings also bear an uncanny animacy, as if one is eavesdropping on the waters chattering happily amongst themselves. Finally, in its hissing and drone-thundering, the waterfalls here shapeshift into powerfully moving gusts of wind.
